Tackling Stigma

A colleague, who became a dear friend, and I worked together on a project that I remain really proud of to this day.

We were both working in marketing and communications for charitable organisations that were centred around recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. My organisation focused on people in recovery and their journey and her organisation focused on the friends and family of those affected by drug and alcohol.

Together we worked on this report:

During creating this we ran a workshop (as featured in the report) and it was a truly incredible day. We gave participants real articles that had been written and gave them markers and asked them to correct them. It was quite a powerful moment.

We also conducted interviews with a journalist, a person in recovery , a family member affected by alcohol and drugs amongst others.

You can listen to these here:

I really enjoyed this project and working on this with someone so passionate and talented as my partner in crime was. It truly was a labour of love and not long after we released this it got circulated to the Scottish Governments Drugs Task Force and then Scottish Government released an anti stigma campaign…wowweee.
